0 Budapest: St. Stephen's Basilica

St. Stephen's Basilica, completed in 1905, sits firmly in the center of Pest.  It took 54 years to compete, and is tied as the highest building in Budapest, equal with Parliament.

One of Budapest's Christmas Markets occupies St. Stephen's Square in front of the Basilica.

The back end and street view of the Basilica.

Door at entrance.

The main altar.

Close-up.

The Holy Crown of St. Stephen, in stained glass form.

The Basilica ceiling.

A font in the hall leading to the Chapel of the Holy Right.

Two stained glass Hungarian saints.

The holy relic, St. Stephen's right hand.   Fist bump!
