0 Budapest: Fisherman's Bastion

Fisherman's Bastion stands as a monument to the defense of Buda overlooking the Danube.
Constructed during the turn of the 20th century, it is named after the fishermen's guild that defended Buda's riverbank during the middle ages.

Between Matthias Church and Fisherman's Bastion stands a statue of Stephen I of Hungary.

Walking the Bastion gives some dramatic views over the Danube.  Parliament can be seen on the Pest side.

The Chain Bridge crossing the Danube.

The skies were quite dramatic as the sun set!
