0 The Dales

Paul's sister, Caitlin, came up to see us for a short weekend from Birmingham, where she's doing study abroad.  Since the day was beautiful, albeit cold, we decided to drive out to Grassington, a town in the heart of the Dales, and walk around, showing her this region of England.  I didn't take any pictures of Grassington itself, although it's quite charming, but we are going back there before long and I'll treat you to the town then. We first stopped at a dog-friendly cafe and had lunch, then set out.  There's not much info here, just some pictures of this amazing landscape.

The footpaths leading from the car park we used follow alongside the River Wharfe.

Classic English sky- thick clouds on one side...

blue expanses in the other!

If you look closely you'll see the back of Max's head- we took the dogs and they definitely enjoyed it, although they prefer more off-lead time and getting IN the river!
